Fiat vaggio review

 Fiat VAGGIO

It's no secret that Fiat India needs new models in its line-up as qucikly as possible and that will happen from next year and the prime contender for this is the Viaggio. The new Fiat Viaggio is at the moment a China only offering but it could replace or be positioned above the Linea in India. The Viaggio has made its debut at the 2012 Beijing International Auto Show. Plus as you would have noticed the Viaggio looks stunning with typical Italian flair.  Designed by Fiat Group's Style Centre in Turin, the Fiat Viaggio has clean-surfaced expressive exterior design that blends fluid and curvaceous forms with strong proportions. A contemporary Fiat "face" ensures unmistakable brand identity. Rear tail lamps with refined LED lights add to the sporty touch. An extended C-pillar and the chrome details (from the entry trim level) gives the Fiat Viaggio a highly sophisticated look.
The Viaggio is 4,679 mm in length, 1,850 mm in overall width and with a 2,708 mm wheelbase which means it has ample space both at the front and at the back. The interior is sporty and just like the Linea has many class touches plus also expect very good levels of equipment. The design is however more modern and in China it is loaded with features and we do hope that the Indian version will not be watered down. The feeling of luxury is there and will have the customers coming to the showrooms.

The Fiat Viaggio will come with a 1.4L T-Jet 120 bhp and the diesels with a 5-speed manual transmission. Though India is a diesel centric market so along with that expect a multijet offering too! As the first Fiat-Chrysler joint project, the Fiat Viaggio will be produced in the new GAC Fiat production plant in Changsha, in the Hunan province. Though its Indian debut is still some time away surely the Viaggio will come and bring in some much needed sales for Fiat. It will be priced above the Linea and in Corolla/Cruze/Laura territory
